CrossFit is comprised of many functional movements including running, rowing, weight lifting, gymnastics, and more.  We want everyone who enters our doors to be equipped for success.  Before you do any workout, each movement will be demonstrated and coached to ensure both understanding and safety.  Before being concerned with weights or times, you must master the basic movements!  

Our coaches are well versed in what it takes to be a successful CrossFitter and are happy to assist you in preparing for and achieving your fitness goals!

           Coach Nila

I'm a South Carolina native, born and raised.  I did spend some time in Texas for a while, but ended up finding my way back to South Carolina and finding a home with my husband and four boys, as well as with  my gym family.  

My life changed when I was introduced to CrossFit, however it started on a much simpler level.  A simple trip to a local home improvement store ended with me carrying paint to the car and a realization that a simple can of paint should not be this heavy!  I decided then and there that I needed to change my life simply by getting stronger and more fit.  

My journey started with a local boot camp and quickly progressed into CrossFit.  The impact of boot camp and CrossFit has been huge; not only did I trade in paint cans for kettle belles, but I also changed the way that I tackle life.  Nothing is out of reach.  I've transformed myself mentally and physically.  Not only that; I'm also determined to help others on their own path to fitness and well-being.  I've done it; I've lived it and now I'm helping others do the same.  I obtained my CF-L1 certification in January 2016 and began coaching immediately; my dream is to coach and inspire and that dream has become a reality.

             Coach Huff

I have lived in Columbia, SC for my entire life; I love it here!  I grew up playing sports of all kinds, however my favorite was baseball.  My new found love has become CrossFit, which I've been involved in since early 2016.  I love it, love the community, and love the people!

Since mid 2016 I have been coaching and that is so much fun.  I love helping people grow and becoming better in life and over all fitness!  CrossFit has helped me so much as an individual, with both my body and over all health.

Hi my name is Abigail Courtney Boland but most people just call me Abby. I got into CrossFit in 2014.  I was looking for something that was challenging but also fun.  Little did I know I would fall in love with CrossFit.  Shortly after I went to Cookeville Tennessee (the best place on earth) to get my Level One CrossFit Certification. Since then I have coached numerous athletes and I've learned a lot about people and a lot about myself. I'm a lover of fitness and I hope to meet you someday and see you move! Smash you later!!!

            Coach Quinton

As far back as I can remember I have always wanted to be fit, but never found a sport or an outlet of exercise that really felt like my own. I cycled through every school sport imaginable, and tried as many different martial arts as I could find schools for, but never really stuck with anything for more than 6 months. Due to my upbringing with a bodybuilding bias towards the world, I had an unjustified disgust for CrossFit, despite never having tried it. That changed when I stumbled across a little documentary call “The Fittest on Earth”. I was awestruck at what the competitors were capable of, and thought to myself “you know that doesn't look so bad, maybe I'll give it a shot. After all how hard can kipping pull ups and 95 pound squats really be?” I went to a class at my jiu-jitsu school and quickly found out just how very wrong I was. It was one of the hardest things I had ever experienced. I kept going back, day after day, under the guise that eventually i would be good at it. I, two years later, still go to the gym day after day, hoping eventually i'll be good at CrossFit, but if i do it right, I never will be. Now that I look back at how my first coaches had impacted my life now. Showing up early to class so I could do extra workouts and staying late to teach me more skills. I decided I wanted to do for others what they had done for me, to hopefully spark a passion as rich as mine. So as soon as I turned 17, I got my CF-L1, and have loved every opportunity I've had since to share my experience and any insight I have in the CrossFit methodology with others. I hope to do so for as long as I am able. To best of my ability, and am excited to be able to do so through Primordial CrossFit.

My life has always revolved around sports, competition, and fitness in some way, shape or form.  Growing up, I played sports year-round and was fortunate enough to play football at the College level, playing Tight End for Furman University from 1995 to 1998.  After graduating I joined Corporate America but never lost my thirst for lifting and pursuing fitness.  Road Races pull me in from time to time, but nothing has captured my excitement or commitment like Crossfit.  My wife, Nila, and I started CrossFit in December of 2014.  Since that time, CrossFit has changed our lives, making us stronger, healthier and happier than ever before.  Recently we decided that it was time that CrossFit not only help us, but that we use CrossFit to help others as well.  On May 1, 2017 we opened Primordial CrossFit in the hopes to coach and inspire others to change their lives for the better much like we did.

 

P.S.: I'm just a fill-in.  You will typically see the other coaches handle our normal classes.  I only fill in from time to time but am always around to discuss your fitness goals and how we may be able to help.
